A Step Back

I've always heard when you have a winning horse going you have friends pop up you never knew you had. Then, when you're not on top anymore those friends disappear. The same goes for being pregnant, I was also told. Since I’ve had both happen in the same year I can agree and behold! …nothing is more true.

There’s a gap in the landscape that’s a hollowed vein.  The many wilds of this, the people, the prairie—there isn’t anything I could have constructed that was more perfect.

I don’t know how to write anymore. I’m terrified of being sentimental. If the truest thing you can do is write what you know, how does one write past grief?
